THE CHEST

The horse's chest... ideally broad and deep, it is made up of strong muscles, bone and protects the heart and lungs.

The horse gets a lot of power from it's chest muscles, as from the other major muscle groups - hind quarters, shoulders and neck.

This is a picture of a beautiful Paint gelding we have been considering purchasing.

You can see how strong his chest is. Note the powerful shoulder, how the neck is set. This horse has excellent conformation and is strong enough to carry full tack and rider all day.
