THE HORSE'S NECK

The neck is comprised of powerful muscles that support the horse's head, but also aid it in balance and propulsion.

NECK, THROAT LATCH, SHOULDER CONFORMATION

Horses can stretch way up with thier necks extended to reach tender leaves and branches on trees. They then tear off the forage with their powerful teeth and jaws.

It is amazing that we can control a horse at all, but we do, using just a halter (or head collar) and lead rope - or a bit and bridle when riding.

Some riding disciplines work very hard at keeping the horse's neck in the proper position. Dressage is one of these. You can visit our Dressage page.
