Buster and Foxy Sad Update: In January 2006 Foxy passed away. She spent much of her life on a pony ring giving joy to children, even though she suffered for it. Then she came to live with us. That was in 1996. She was in her mid twenties. We will miss her!
This it Tiger, Buster and Foxy's foal from 1999. He is
We acquired Buster and Foxy from the same man. Foxy had been on a pony ring for 5 years. She had several foals, 2 of them from Buster before we bought them. All her foals had been put on the inner section of the pony ring that Foxy was on. They would walk around in the circle for hours and hours while Foxy gave children rides. She worked Saturday and Sunday for about 6 hours each day. She was in such terrible shape when we first saw her that we bought her last foal...it was Pepsi, the one we gave to our little German friend. Anyway, Foxy was close to death, so we took the foal home. A few months later we bought Foxy for our little girl, Margaret. Foxy gained weight and didn't have to work very much. She is a wonderful pony for kids. Margaret rides her Western and English and occasionally I drive her.
Foxy is Margaret's Mare - She is in her teens and very wonderful with
children! This is Margaret and Foxy on Margaret's 7th Birthday. She got an English Saddle with all the trimming! The dog is Bingo, our Border Collie. He always manages to get in the picture somehow!
BUSTERBuster came to live with us a few months later. He was thin and ragged looking. His life had consisted of breeding mares and picking at what little grass there was to eat. Buster's mother is a pinto Welsh cross and his sire is a Quarter Horse. Buster throws beautiful foals that are talented at jumping. Tiger is the first foal Foxy and Buster have had since we got them. So far, so good! This photo is of Buster when we first got him... the very day in fact. He looks terrible!
This is Buster 7 months after we got him. Much improved and happier,
too.
Buster was sold in the Fall of 1999 to a man in New York as a hunter/jumper in training. Buster and Valentine
