The general verdict is Misty is a sabino pinto, maximum. Still no dark hairs,
but perhaps in her ears where she is loath to let me look! Visit
Cotton to learn more about the genetics of this
color. It turns out that Buster is a minimal
Sabino, his dam also Sabino. Two Sabinos make white! She is pretty dirty
in these pictures, but, the yellow tint to her mane and tail began when her
adult hair grew in.
June 30, 2001 - Misty is one year old now and growing fast! She is taller
than Tiger at 11.1 hh and over 300 pounds. She is finally completely shed
out, showing she has no color at all anywhere on her body or skin. Misty
has lovely long legs, straight and graceful, and a nice head. She is at the
gangly stage of growth yearlings often go through. She isn't as flighty as
she was a few months ago, has been handled, brushed, wormed and had her feet
trimmed regularly. To the right and below are some recent pictures of her
taken on June 30, 2001.

This photos take June 30, 2001 - Misty with Everette.
Tiger is Misty's 1/2 brother out of
Foxy by Buster. He shows no pinto markings,
has tiger stripes on legs, dorsal stripe and small star.
Visit him here.

Misty on September 1, 2001
All she needs is a unicorn horn!
Tauren is out of
Valentine, by Buster.
He is also Misty's 1/2 brother.
Our darling white pinto filly was born June 9, 2000 out of Cotton by
Buster. She is pure white, not a stitch
of any other color anywhere! She has blue eyes which she got from her grand
dam on her sire' side. Misty is a pinto. She will stay white her entire life.
We will be training her for Hunter/Jumper and Dressage, possibly western.
Many people think that Misty is an albino, but she isn't. An albino has no
pigment at all, so they have pink eyes. It is the blood vessels in the eyes
that give them the pink color. Misty is a maximum Sabino pinto. You can learn
more about pinto color patterns HERE!
Misty has blue eyes. Blue eyes are a trait of pinto horses (and Paints).
Misty will be registered as a Pinto (Misty IS NOT a carrier of the Lethal
White Allele OLWS.)
